In my 10 weeks as an intern for KSBY, I gained meaningful experience in every aspect of news production. These skills include writing, reporting, producing, directing, editing, and videography. I wrote 36 web articles which are linked below. Additionally, I found and reported on two full video stories using professional techniques required to bring a story from an idea to being on air. This includes finding the story and having it approved, organizing interviews, scripting stand-ups/voiceovers, and editing the final product in Adobe Premiere Pro, the industry standard software for news production. Beyond that, I got experience reporting weather as shown below, and shadowed both producers and directors to learn software such as ENPS and NewsDesk which are powerful tools for organizing and running a live newscast.

A solo anchored newscast with a look at stories from the week of June 3rd, 2024, including my own package story that I produced from start to finish.
A video of me presenting the weather for the week of May 3rd, 2024 using professional techniques.
A package I reported on regarding planned roadwork in Paso Robles.
The package referenced in the Solo Anchored Newscast. In order to create this, I went through the steps of finding the story, having it approved by an executive producer, reaching out to subjects for interviews, gathering B-roll on location, writing scripts for stand-ups and studio voiceovers, and editing the package together in Adobe Premiere Pro.
